Swap….On A Budget February 17, 2009

Since you say that I am so hard to buy for, I will give you some ideas!! Although you are a knitter, so I know you can come up with a complete list of things to get me, but anywho, here goes:

1: I think I’ve already lost the cable needle you bought me for Christmas, so I definitely need another, or more than one. It has to be in my living room, I’ll hopefully find it one day!

2: I could use size 2 or 3 straight needles. I think bamboo would be fine, since the needles are so small.

3: I know we are on a budget, but I could use another circular needle case from Joann Fabrics. The one I have is full and the one Doreen made me doesn’t hold circular needles very well.

4: I don’t really have any stitch holders, and I think I might need one for the CPH. I haven’t read that far ahead in the pattern though, so I’m not sure.

5: I have also misplaced my tool that tells you the size of a needle, and of course I need it, eyeballing the size will only work for so long.

I suppose that should be enough. I’m not really in ‘need’ of any yarn right now. But if you just have to get me some, I would like some brown Berroco Comfort.

Can you remind me of the date as well?

Thanks…

So La and I had our swap on December 26th, and it was awesome.  She made me a shrug, an awesome felted bag (that I plan on carrying this weekend), fingerless mitts, and a black wedge scarf (that I will have soon :-) )!!  She also bought me a ton of yarnny goodness, 5 skeins of Malabrigo,

2 skeins of Manos Del Uruguay,

2 skeins of Noro Kureyon,

2 skeins of Patons for the CPH,

2 skeins of bamboo (very soft and silky) yarn,

and one skein of Araucania.

She bought me a really cool wrap:

A pair of addi needles, my absolute favorites, a pair of Harmony Straights, probably my third favorite (if I’m not considering price).  A push row counter (very used already), darning needles, hand made stitch markers, two leather journals, Krush Groove (hip-hop classic), incense, a candle, and a ton of goodies. I’m trying to recall everything from memory, so I may have forgotten some things, but long story short, this was the best swap ever!!

Knitpicks has their sock needle set on sale for 19.99.  I think it comes with 5 sets of double pointed needles, it’s really a steal and I would love to have that set as I am going to make some socks after the first of the year.
