A friend of mine at work sews, and she made me a really pretty knitting needle holder (picture to come later). And I’ve been wanting to make her something, so I cast on:

Shifting Sands pattern on ravelry. I made a few modifications. I only cast on 32 (Doreen is very petite). I did a k1p1 beginning (and I’ll do that at the end too) to prevent curling. As the pattern suggests, I am cabling without a cable needle. When I first tried it, I didn’t think I would enjoy it. In fact, after the first few tries, I gave up and used a dpn. Well, I hate to feel as though I’ve been defeated, so I tried again. It’s going a lot better. And I must say that it is faster than using a cable needle. I will continue to use a cable needle for cables that are larger than 2 stitches, but for this scarf, one isn’t necessary. I’m going to take my time with it, but I want to finish by April 12th! I’m guessing if I do merely 5 repeats a week, I will be in good shape!

I finished the hat to complete my sisters birthday gift!!  I’m on a roll.

I started a Danica for my mom:

I’m using Patons SWS Natural Earth.  Initially I thought I would hate knitting with this yarn, but it isn’t too bad.

My goal is to finish the Manitou Passage Scarf for my co-worker next.

I think it’s going to take some time, but if I work on it everyday, I should be good.  I’m using Patons Wool for this scarf and size 7 needles.  It’s definitely going to be thick, but I think the pattern wouldn’t look as good otherwise.

My entrelac with Berroco Jasper is going pretty good.  I like the yarn, I wish the skeins had more yarn, but I guess that’s the case with most yarns.  There’s not local place that carries the yarn, and I don’t really want to order any, so that’s limiting how long I can make it.
I have so many things that I want to make, typical of most knitters.  Just seems like there isn’t enough time.  If only I could figure out a way to stop working so I could knit all day.  I’m sure I would get tired of it then!  And I suppose the bills have to be paid.

So, I finished the scarf for my sister:

Then, I went and cast on two more projects, a hat to match the above scarf, and a scarf for my mom for Christmas.  I’m making good progress though, so I won’t be too hard on myself.
